GORGUS JOSH JOIN FORCES AT POLICE CELEBRATIONS

Hi all. Been a while. Super busy with Gorgus Josh. We joined forces with the Dubbo Police, to help raise money for the David Rixon Memorial Fund. David lost his life in the line of duty. Blessings to his family and six children. It was so nice to meet his colleague's and to donate money to the fund.
I am so proud of the had work Georgie, Joshua and Mas (Kidlets and Hublet) put into the weeks leading up to "150 Year Police Spectacular" in Dubbo. About 5000 people came to the event, all contributing to the fund. Thanks to Dubbo and the surrounding command area.

LOVE THESE BAGS

I'm really enjoying making these little reversible bags...I have had the pattern for so long and now can't stop making them.
I was excited to make one for my sister's birthday...I used the selvage as a feature...I also added my little wooden logo to the reverse side for fun...!

These little tags are from Etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/rememberwynn

I have enlarged the pattern and can't wait to make a big one!!!

PROMOTIONAL ORDER FOR GORGUS JOSH....!!!

Yehaa, I'm back...been a busy little bee. I have been organising a promotional order...And the ARMATREE HOTEL have taken me up on my idea.
I was very excited when the publicans of the Armatree Hotel accepted my offer to design some promotional Key Fobs to sell in the hotel. I have used the standard Key Fob supplies and added the Hotel logo to labels. The white label may also be used on other items.

Two labels were used, targeting male and female customers with different ribbon.
Clipstrips are use to display

I couldn't resist these little kitchen ideas (a gift) to help keep up with their yummy Pizza...!

This place is  AWESOME....The Armatree Hotel is located between Gilgandra and Gulargambone. My first `visit to the Armatree hotel was spent munching on The Yummiest Home Made Pizza, and without any question, the coldest refreshments this side of the Blue Mountains...They also provide accommodation at this truly unique hotel...The hotel was rebuilt in 1929. Over the last few years, the publicans Ash and Lib Walker have done a beautiful job restoring the interior. A new kitchen was built in 2009, now providing the Best Pizza's. Functions are a regular event, and fundraising family days always popular.

If you are ever passing through this way...it's well worth the visit. It really is a beautiful piece of history.
Thank you to Ash and Lib Walker for supporting

OMG, I HAVE MADE SOMETHING....!

Its that time again. My beautiful Aunt has had a birthday! I have used fabric by Sweetwater...the last gift was also Sweetwater fabric so she should be able to use these items together. I know she goes walking and does Yoga so this is what I came up with....
  • A Tinny Winny coin purse 1.5 "
  • Phone case with magnetic clip ( will use a pattern next time )
  • Extra long strap to carry over the head onto the shoulder
  • Insal-brite so it is extra thermal
  • Parrot clips to swap and change & carry keys
  • I have sized it to hold up to a 1 litre bottle
So back to the sewing room to make GK Kidlets Year six farewell dress...She has picked the fabric and designed what she would like....Keeping It age appropriate was my concern, but she has chosen well.
Will keep you posted in a few weeks with the finished product!!!!
Cheers Nic

MY GLASS QUILT PLATE

My twin sister organised a glass making workshop, in my home town. I knew of the glass man, but I had know idea that he lived up the road!!!
One of the girls that came along, I went to school with, we were great mates in high school....but like most school mates, lives tends the move in different paths....Now we have planed a coffee date in Dubbo next week...can wait. She is a very talented artist...she always had beautiful work in art class at school.
So enjoy our workshop pictures...It's amazing the similarities to piecing fabric!

Joe cutting templates.

My template....going for a quilt effect.
Glass scraps kept, just like fabric.
My sister wanted a plate for her dinning table...the painting is a pen and wash our late Grams did...this was her inspiration.

This will be a bowl...shaping is done in second firering.

This will be a plate.

This is the kilm..it has to be full to fire, costs a ton to run. When the glass heats, it rises...lots of little tricks to creating the effect you want.
Just a few hornbags!!! like the slim version of me on the left of the screen!!! hehe

My finished plate...the shaping is done on a mould in the second fire.
This is for a show...it is in pieces...can you see that it's a croc under the water (glass)

Ned Kelly helmet

A very clever man...I have seen a Pelican that he did...it's wing span was 1metre all up....he was just beautiful...It now sits in a garden ( $3000.00) Ooh!!!
Sorry for the long blog but it was truly a great experience

Cheers Nic

MATER STARS AT BIRTHDAY AS A BOY BAG

Wow, long time, no post. Well life has been flat out in our home....doesn't this great weather bring the busy time out of the wood works!!!
This is a gift I designed for a 1st birthday gift. I luv Mater from the Cars movie, so it wasn't hard to pick a character for this project.

The strange looking hook is supposed to be his tow thingy...!He has a little magnetic clip at the top and can carry all his birthday toys.
His mum had her birthday a few weeks later. I was determined to come up with another idea for this luvly lady, so this is what I came up with...
I have plenty more to show, but these will do for today.

MY FIRST PURSE

I have....AT LAST worked out how to put a purse together. This purse is not stitch and to some of you may come easy....but I really really struggled. I got myself some crimping pliers, and the world fell into place.
The pure took less then an hour to make....I luv the red leather and, the Idea part of my brain was available to me for a very short period. I was happy with the rosette and vintage button and can't wait to make some more.....yeehaa
Sorry about the picture quality...I haven't mastered the mobile thingy
Well back to the drawing board.

THIS LITTLE PIGGY WAS HEAPS OF FUN

A really nice lady I know, owns my most Favorite place to dine....So while I'm on this Crochet wagon, I made this for her....It has an alligator clip on the back to attach.

Hope she likes it!
I also have  pics to share of some beautiful friends living in our yard (Thanks to the cat cage).

Wow, JBoy Kidlet ditched an apple!!!

Yummy, Olives, Trillion's of them!!!

So nice to see them each day....Can someone tell me the name of these guy's? The lady who lived here, use to feed all to birds....Might be why they sit on a post while I hang the washing. Must add seed to the shopping list.
Schools back, and I'm going to miss them!
Cheers Nic
